How hard is AP Gov?
Since I'm taking AP U.S. government next year, I was wondering how hard that class is?
Like, compared to other AP classes, how much work is there and how hard is the material?
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: How hard is AP Gov?
Im in AP US Gov now, there is quite a bit of reading involved, but if you love politics, the reading is really interesting and it doesnt seem as much of a nag.
The textbook is really dry, any politics book is going to be. But the outside readings are interesting. I can send you some if you want, so you can get a feel on whether or not your going to like it.
I love the class, its difficult- the AP format of it, but its stimulating.
However, some of my friends hate it. Soo its personal preference.

Re: How hard is AP Gov?
How time consuming was the class for you? Were you up late at night doing homework? How many other AP classes were you taking?
Next year I'm taking AP Calculus and AP Brit Lit, but I'm also interested in US Gov. If I take out Honors Chem and Int Relations, I can fit in the AP Gov, but do you think three AP classes would be too much? If I did well in each class (B or better), my GPA would rise quite a bit. However, a B- or lower would hurt my GPA and ruin my straight A record. Any suggestions?

Yeah I pulled a lot of all-nighters. But I love that class so much I want to retake it. haha.

I'm taking AP Government as a junior. This class is not for you if your're not politically opinionated, and or up for some hard and challenging work. But this also depends on your teacher. This class is a college level class and this is how it should be treated. I like the class, but it is very challenging for me.

I agree with Natalie. Her opinions about AP Gov are spot-on.
